Peter disowned Jesus |
Description |
Matthew 26:69-75, Mark 14:66-72, Luke 22:55-62. John 18:25-27.
Peter was sitting out in the courtyard, and a servant girl came to him. "You also were with Jesus of Galilee," she said.
But he denied it before them all. "I don't know what you're talking about," he said. He disowned Jesus twice more, rigfht after that a rooster crowed. Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken: "Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times."
And he went outside and wept bitterly.
Peter was very confident that he would never disown his Lord, but he did it three times in hours.
Weak mind like myself surely need help from holy spirits to keep the faith at a difficult time. |
